We have had the flu in our house this week. My daughter had a miserable time of it - but fortunately it was a mild form. I'm so proud of her for being such a good patient and taking all her meds and drinking lots of fluid!
Something good, however, did come out of this flu - I DID NOT GET SICK!
For the last 8 years every sneeze that has crossed my path has made me sick and I truly feel that with giving up dairy and working hard with an acupuncturist - I have made it to another level. I have not felt perfect during her flu - in fact I'm on Tamiflu - but still no flu.
I'm finally at the point that no matter how tempting the "dairy" looks - I know it will make me sick and take me back to where I was - so I'm moving on.

A Successful Day
Well - a blog - now what?
I really want to help those that might be in the same place I am. Having to give up dairy and finding replacement foods and navigating additives that many don't know are dairy - that is the biggest trick.
As I find good brands and restaurants and tips - I will post and share. I don't have anyone to ask about these things - so hope I can make it easier for just one person.
Today I ate lunch at Chipolte and found I could eat the rice (did not get it) and they were so nice when I asked them if they could please change their gloves as they put cheese on the order before mine. They were so nice they even opened a new lettuce - the manager offered to me that sometimes the cheese can get mixed up in the lettuce. The chicken does not contain any dairy so it was a great choice - tacos!
